Dorothy the Dinosaur

Our lovely bearded dragon, Dorothy the Dinosaur, has gone ahead to the Rainbow Bridge. We will miss her funny personality and her compassionate listening skills.

Rest in Peace, Dottie Girl.

Slime Across America

Nickelodeon was in town! The Slime Across America tour was nearby and we took Alek over there for an hour and he had fun! While he didn't have the chance to be slimed, we did see others get slimed. This poor girl sure had a lot of Slime in her hair! She was wringing it out!

Eeeewww! Actual Slime!

w(H)ine

Today we went to a wine tasting festival with some great friends of ours. It was held in a state park near to my home. Our friends brought their adorable dog with us. Everything was great and we were all enjoying ourselves until a little girl asked if she could pet the dog. Our friend said, "Yes," as he had no reason not to...and the dog yelped and nipped the little girl's lip. Our friends feel terrible, but then the father of the child comes over and starts yelling and cursing at our friends. So, we were asked to leave the park, which we would have done anyway, but it got turned into this big deal by a man who has some anger issues. Naturally, my friends feel awful, naturally they are concerned about the little girl, but this man started yelling about how he would see that the dog got put down, etc...there wasn't even blood. Grrr.

So much for getting my drink on!

Wildwood Days

The family is on their annual pilgrimage to Wildwood. We went down for the day and had a wonderful time. Here's a picture of Alek and T in front of an amazing sky as we walked back to the hotel.

a rant

Need to get a few things off my chest, so I decided to use this blog to do so!

A month ago today my husband's car was hit by a garbage truck. I was told at that time that all I had to do was give them the requested information and it would be taken care of right away with minimal pain on our part. It was, after all, a clear case of them being at fault.

TODAY the township's insurance company tells my husband that he has to call our insurance company and make a claim. So, now we have to take the car to another town next week for yet another estimate and God knows when the hell this is going to be finished. And, because it's been a month, the 'injuries' to his car are starting to rust.

GRRRR! Boy, it feels good to get this out. Thanks for letting me vent!
